The media storm over the candid remarks of “Duck Dynasty’s” patriarch Phil Robertson would be comical if it was not so tragic and telling of the depth of moral depravity to which our society and nation have sunk.

Having never watched even one episode of this number one rated cable show, I am hardly in a position to give an assessment of “Duck Dynasty’s” content or format; however, the popularity of the show and its following across the American landscape is undeniable. Only in America could manufacturers of duck callers become multimillionaires, with a hit TV show and a Christmas album outselling many-seasoned pop stars.

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the “Duck Dynasty” clan and a man who professes to be a devout Christian, in an interview with a writer of GQ [formerly known as Gentlemen’s Quarterly] exercised his first amendment right of “Free Speech” and has become a sitting duck for the quacks in Hollywood and the political left who have begun a media blitzkrieg in an attempt to destroy Phil Robertson and his hit TV series.

Robertson, responding to the GQ interviewer’s question in an article to be published January 2014, was asked what he believed to be sin. Robertson answered the question by detailing in an honest, albeit somewhat crude manner, that he believed homosexuality, bestiality and adultery were all moral sins. Stating his own paraphrase, Robertson quoted 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ¹⁰ Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

The response of the intolerant quacks on the left has revealed not only their vacuum of morals and lack of moral judgment, but also the endangerment of our first amendment right of free speech as private citizens. Responding to the vociferous quacking flock who are incensed that a star of a hit TV show would express anything other than their own political left prejudices, homosexuals, lesbians, transvestites and their supporting flock of organizations like GLADD have demonized any and all who dare identify with historical, fundamental Christian values.

Edmund Burke, an 18^th century English statesman, member of the British Parliament and supporter of the American Revolution observed, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”  Invoking that statesman’s admonition, I urge you to let your voice be heard above the gabble of liberal quacks or rest assured they will not be satisfied with silencing the voice of “Duck Dynasty’s” patriarch…they are intolerant of all who dare give voice to moral values.

Let your voice be heard by contacting A&E, “Duck Dynasty’s” cable network, and tell them you are disappointed that they have suspended Phil Robertson for expressing traditional family values shared by the vast majority of Americans.
